We just were visited by Dr. Furnary (Tony), and got the GREAT news that dad got an A+!! He is through the surgery wonderfully! Dad ended up getting 4 bypasses and he came off the heart/lung machine right away and without medication! Perfect patient! YaY!!
One bit of bad news for dad...Doctors orders are for him to not fire his shotgun for the next three months. We can certainly live with that! :) So, by March 16th, there will be dad out on the deck with his shotgun. Warn the neighbors as duck season will be well over by then.
Hip Hip Hooray! Thanks all for your thoughts and prayers. Dad is in for a great deal in terms of restrictions and recovery time...but the operation is over and it was a huge success.
I better get our gear all collected as we move down to the ICU where he will be for the next 12-18 hours. More to come...
