Spring Break part two...

Hazel's Grandma and Grandpa arrived on Thursday and were able to visit through this morning. They sat for Hazel on Friday while Beau and I worked - and Hazel loved all the attention! We had beautiful weather Friday, and then lots of rain Saturday, as well as today. However, we didn't let a little rain keep us down. Here are some pictures from our Spring Break visit with Bruce and Roberta!
Look at that pretty sky! Welcome SPRING!!

Hangin' with Grandma.

Hazel's lack of fear frightened her Grandma (and mom too). No kiddie slides for this one.

Special time reading with Grandma.

Go, go, go!!

Chillin' with her daddy.

Checking out Grandma's digs...the comfy tent trailor!

Hazel spies Grandpa through the window!

Grandpa shares his headlamp with Hazel.

Rainy day walk - Beau takes a breather at the park.

All bundled up - where are my hands?

I love Oregon rain!

Sweet cheeks!

Silly Grandma!

Again...where are my hands I ask?

Beau and the boys playing around.

Matt and Donald having fun.

Bella soon after follows her leash down the slide...

Grandpa gives Hazel a helping hand. Can you hear her "NO!" She likes doing things on her OWN these days.

Grandpa eventually scoops her up.

Later, mommy wouldn't let Hazel walk up the slippery steps on her own, and Hazel wouldn't accept help. Here is her priceless POUT!

Just discovered the hat mommy snuck on my head.

OFF!!

Mommy and me.

Spring Break 2009

No, we didn't go anywhere warm and exotic for our Spring Break. Beau and I had to work, bummer. However, Hazel didn't let that stop her from having a fabulous week.

First, her Nana came to spend three days with us. Here are some pictures that Nana took while she was on Hazel duty while I worked Monday and Tuesday....

Getting her shopping list ready for mommy, with Nana's money of course!

Watching some cartoons with her buddies.

Early morning read of "5 Little Monkeys" - a favorite of Hazel's.
Thanks for a great visit Nana!

The JOY of chalk

Spring arrived on Friday, though after showers of hail, snow and rain today...I am still not sure if Winter is really gone. Hmm.

A few weeks ago I bought Hazel a tub of sidewalk chalk. I have been waiting and waiting for an opportune (dry) day to break out the chalk and let Hazel go crazy. Today, I saw a brief break in the clouds, could it be sun? Mom, Hazel and I rushed into shoes and sweatshirts and headed outside, bucket of chalk in hand. Hazel LOVED it!!

The break in weather lasted a brief 5 minutes, but in that time Hazel created quite the masterpiece on our front walk. I am soooo ready for summer and sunshine, afternoons spent watching Hazel color to her hearts content on the sidewalk.

Hazel anxiously waits while I open up the bucket of chalk.

She decides to start with pink.

The first stroke (of genius?)

A bow tie? A fish? Either way, such precision for 18 months.

All done with pink, Hazel politely puts it away.

Green? Blue? Should I be a two fisted drawer?

Such concentration.

Hazel doesn't care the surface isn't smooth - more texture adds to her design.

On to yellow now.

Tired of being polite - they all come tumbling out!

Yep, got them all out.

So many choices, so little time (before the hail comes rushing in).

Mad dash inside - the hail is nearly here!

Nana visits!

My mom is here for the beginning of her Spring Break. She brought a very pretty little dress for Miss Hazel. Hazel seemed to enjoy trying it on last night.

Happy girl in a pretty dress.

Hazel loves her Farm toy, and will often cycle through the variety of songs it plays until she finds her favorite. Then...watch out!! She's got moves...and leaves us all in stitches! :) What a FUN age.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I couldn't resist sharing these photos of Bella and Donald feeling very Irish three years ago.

You better be wearing GREEN today!! Otherwise, Donald will find you and give you a pinch. (Beau already got one.)

October is a great month...

...to give Hazel a baby brother or sister!!

Happy Birthday Luke

Hazel's friend Luke turned THREE last week and had a party at Chuck-E-Cheese! Hazel was a bit overwhelmed at first, but quickly warmed to the loud, bright, and very active environment. She loved watching all the kids as they played. Oh, and she LOVED the mini cupcakes Luke's mommy made for the party. She sure is good at signing "more" when it comes to eating more cupcakes!

Happy Birthday Luke!
