Look what I can do....

Just this week Hazel has mastered this new skill.......out of pure disgust for being on her tummy!

Toes in the sand.....

Hazel saw the Pacific Ocean and felt sand between her toes today! It was a beautiful winter day at the coast, no wind, no rain....and 55 degrees. A perfect first trek to the beach for our little beach babe.

CRIB!

This may not seem like big news to some....but for us last night was BIG! Hazel slept in her crib for the first time! She has been sleeping in the "Co-Sleeper" attached to our bed since she was born, but last night all that was in the Co-Sleeper was the monitor showing us our sleeping beauty.

Surprise Mommy and Daddy....I like it in here!

Soooo relaxed and comfy in her crib

Sleeping Hazel in her CRIB!

I tried to not stay up all night watching the monitor...

Hazel woke up once in the night to eat and then slept for the rest of the night. This was a HUGE improvement over how things have been going the past month, for all of us! I know I can't think our nights will always go this well, but for her first night, Beau and I take it as a great sign and we are very happy. I will admit that it was hard for me to lie her down in that giant crib last night. She is becoming such a big girl. (Sigh)

Weekend in Monroe, Washington!

Hazel and I spent President's Day Weekend with our great friends, Glynis & Brad and their three adorable kiddos...Ty, Malia & Ruby. Hazel was wide-eyed at first, taking in all the activity in the home, then she seemed to really enjoy her new friends. It was a quick trip, but worth all the drive time!! It was the longest road-trip that she and I have been on alone. She did AMAZING.

Did baby Hazel wear out Ruby, Ty and Malia?

(She was sleeping too, behind Ty in her seat.)

Ty and Malia all smiles!

Ruby shows Hazel how it looks to walk!

Hazel with Nana and Grandpa

Hazel loved looking at the "baby" in the mirror, and gave the baby Hazel kisses (she licked the mirror). Grandpa and Hazel had some quiet time reading the book of baby signs this morning. Hazel again loved kissing the babies in the book...more licks! It was a quick visit, but wonderful. What a big girl Hazel is becoming!

Num Num's from Uncle Patrick!

This weekend Hazel spent time with Uncle Patrick and his fabulous girlfriend Bonnie! She loved the rice cereal...but loved the bowl it was in even more!

"AIR HAZEL"

Next she will be slam-dunking at Day Care!

More Jumparoo Fun

Okay, here is another video of Hazel enjoying her Jumparoo....I just couldn't resist posting it. Note the squeal of delight in the beginning. We love getting those!

Hazel Goes to the Movies

Last night Hazel went to see her first feature film in a movie theater...Bee Movie. (Our $1.50 theater gets the flicks about 3 months after they are released.) She did AMAZING. I wore her in the sling throughout the whole movie and she didn't even try to snag any of my Reeces Pieces! She was very enthralled with the GIANT screen (beats our 32 inch home TV) and the bright colors and music....for a while. Then...she did what she does best, she took a snooze. I had a bag of tricks with me that I didn't even need. We will be trying this again! :)

Jogger Stroller

Soooo....a very sad thing happened in the Garner home a few weeks ago, our treadmill BROKE! The repair man is on his way, but Hazel and Bella hope he stays away a bit longer. As you can see by the photos, they enjoyed it when I had my run outside! Bella really surprised me by staying right along side the stroller and NOT pulling! Incredible. Hazel took in the fresh air for the first 15 minutes and then was sawing logs the rest of the adventure.

JUMPEROO!

Just this week Hazel has figured out how to JUMP, JUMP, JUMP in her fabulous Jumperoo! (Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Garner.) She loves this toy and just goes crazy in it. Beau and I have had fun watching her rock out all week. Here is a video of her in action! (Sorry for the lousy camera work.)

My Mommy-Do

I decided to get my hair chopped...Hazel has gotten really skilled at grabbing on and not letting go, so hopefully the above-shoulder-length will help with that. Besides, it was time for a change! Hazel looked on as I got my haircut and I caught the wishful look in her eyes...wishful that she had hair to cut! One of these days honey....

Day Care

Day two of Day Care is under our belt! Hazel has done soooo well at Jasper's Day Care (where Beau works full-time & I work part-time). The staff say that she is their "favorite"...shhhh don't tell the other parents! Apparently, she is very mellow and just takes it all in, even while the other little ones are upset, she maintains her cool. Good to hear she takes after her daddy, the king of mellow! We are hoping that she keeps up the "good behavior" and continues to make this transition as easy as possible on her mommy.

Rice Cereal....Hmm

Hazel had her first taste of rice cereal last night....by the pictures you can see that most of it went everywhere but in her mouth. She had never eaten from a spoon, that alone was a strange occurance for her....then to taste the cereal...oh, the faces she made. Priceless. Bella was quite interested in this slop that Hazel was eating and was very willing to help with clean-up. We will continue with the cereal, and hopefully in the next month venture into some veggies! Oh my...our little girl is growing up!

Mr. Mom

So...normally Fridays bring about joy in our home....as we think of how great sleeping in tomorrow will be, not to mention a weekend with family and friends. This Friday is different. This Friday marked the end of an era...the Era titled..."Mr. Mom." Two months ago I returned to my part-time job when Hazel was nearly 3 months old. This is when "Mr. Mom" began...we were fortunate that Beau was able to reconfigure his schedule to allow him to work from home and care for Hazel while I was at work.

Today marked the last morning that Beau and Hazel were able to hang out at home, as come Monday...Hazel enters DAY CARE. Hmm. The mom I have become has been having a hard time digesting this new phase and figuring out exactly how I am to feel about this. Yes, I am sad. I think a big part of this sadness comes from the fact that Beau will not have THAT time with Hazel, nor will Hazel have THAT time with Beau. Yes, they will have time together, just not THAT time. I know, let go. I try...but gosh, this little girl of mine is growing sooo fast, it has become something that is so hard for me...letting go to her "phases." I know the next phase will bring about even more joy for our little family, but gosh, that other phase will never be again. Let go Becky...Let go. Think of me come Monday, think of me letting go...just a little. :)
