I love it when a plan comes together.

Yesterday was Beau's birthday. It also was the launch of the World Cup. However, the most significant thing about yesterday was...

The A-TEAM movie opened!

Beau has been anticipating June 11th for months. Of course, we had to mark the momentous occasion for what it was. I love it when a plan comes together!

Tuesday, I concocted the plan. Initially it was to be a surprise. In the end, Beau was in the know and he was quite a sport!! Let me introduce you to my husband who is a year older and nearly unrecognizable...

Beau as Mr. T

Hazel was curious, is that hair or her old stuffy on daddy's head?
(Neither, it was the fur strip from the hood of her winter coat.)

Did you know that Mr. T drives a 1999 purple Hyundai hatch back?
(I pity the fool who makes fun of him.)
Happy Birthday Daddy!
Hazel was thrilled with her daddy's new look.

Henley was uncertain who this strange man was with all the bling.

Our Mr. T headed off to town to meet up with the rest of his gang.

Let me introduce you to our very own...

A-TEAM
Face (Jacob), Hannibal (Jeff), Murdock (Ryan), Mr. T (birthday boy Beau)
The guys hit a late showing of the A-Team, and I imagine they got a few double takes. I hope this was as memorable a birthday for Beau as it was for me!
I love it when a plan comes together.
Thanks to Ryan, Jacob and Jeff for making it happen!!!
Here's to hoping that next year Little House on the Prairie the Movie opens on June 11th.

A ONE pair day...

For all you who have potty trained a child...or those of you who one day shall...

Please share in our JOY that yesterday Hazel wore a single, solitary pair of underpants ALL DAY LONG. No oopsies. No accidents. NO PULLUPS! Even nap time was DRY. Wowzers! We took a trip to the park. Not a problem for this little potty trainer. She even deposited a "snake poop" in the public restroom. Now that is an accomplishment. Proud of you Hazel!

Hazel may BECOME an Octopus!

Our silly girl is fascinated with drawing octopuses! (Yes, I did google how to pluralize octopus.) Every time she has a drawing implement and drawing surface, she creates more of these beautiful creatures. I think a trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium will be a must this summer.

One octopus...
two...

SIX! They sure multiply fast. She was most proud of her tight-knit family of octopuses.

Henley is 2/3 of the way to ONE YEAR!

Henley marked eight months yesterday. He spent his 2/3 birthday playing with his favorite toy bus, cuddling with mommy, sneezing & coughing, laughing at peek-a-boo Hazel, keeping his eye on daddy, sharing a few bites of mommy's special sandwich, and taking two LONG naps in his crib.

At eight months old, our Henley is...

A LADY KILLER!
Those eyes are destined to get him the desires of his heart! His mommy knows this all to well.
A SQUEALER OF JOY!
Henley is quick to show his excitement for the many things that bring him joy. Most of all, he LOVES attention and love from his family. He is especially fond of his sister's dancing, and likely her #1 fan.

WAVING!
In the past few weeks, Henley has learned the art of waving, though he still reserves his waves for a rare few. At one point he was so excited, I swear he said "hhhiiiiiiiiiii" along with his enthusiastic wave. No video footage - YET!
A MECHANICAL GENIUS!
Not only will Henley sit and happily play with his FAVORITE toy bus for great lengths of time, but he has become VERY skilled at popping off the door. He zeros in on it immediately, and doesn't give up until the door is his and his alone!

VICTORY!

HUMBLE!
Though he is very talented, Henley isn't quick to toot his horn. He is a quiet sort of guy who doesn't need accolades for his talents. He gets them, none-the-less!

TOUGH!
The little guy has been battling sickness for more than a week now. Started with a VERY high temp that had his mom and dad NEARLY headed to the ER, then five days later he was diagnosed with a double ear infection. I took these pictures on day two of antibiotics. Though he wasn't his normal self, amidst the sickness and pitiful cries, we saw COUNTLESS smiles. Henley is a tough little guy, and we love him so.
