We had a rough sleep last night, to be expected. These photo of Hazel from this morning speak volumes for the tossing and turning that happened for all of us last night...
Classic Hazel Bed-head
Today is dad's surgery, he is being prepped right now, the waiting has begun.
Dad will be getting 4 or 5 bypasses this morning, and the operation will likely take 4 to 5 hours. This morning, we inched here on icy roads, ran from the parking lot into the hospital with Hazel in tow, making it to dad's bedside just in time!
Dad had been freshly shaved, showered and looked quite becoming in his baby blue hospital gown. We give thanks for Valium this morning, as dad was more relaxed than we have seen him in days. He spirits were high and he got kisses from mom, Hazel, Patrick, Bonnie and I...we wished him well and made our way back to wait.
We love you dad!
