We made it through the winter wonderland this morning and got to the hospital without a problem. Dad was groggy, but aware this morning and recognized us as we took turns visiting his bedside for a few minutes at a time. He needs lots of rest, so we kept our visits brief.
We were hopeful that he would be transferred out of the ICU today, however he has to remain through the night due to the fluid drainage from his chest. We are so thankful that he is being cared for so well in the ICU. He has his own nurse watching over him 24/7 and we have access to information as often as we need.
We look forward to dad being transferred out of the ICU tomorrow, so that we can have more access and Hazel can give her "Bapa" a kiss. (No one under the age of 12 is able to go visit in the ICU.) Surely the kiss from his granddaughter will help dad's recovery!! We look forward to that and hope he continues getting good sleep through the night.
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes! We all feel it!

Thanks for all of the updates, Becky. We've been thinking of you and your family. It's so good to hear that your dad's recovering well. Can't wait to hear where you hide the shotgun. :) Much love to you all. Ellie
