Ellie the Elephant's adventurous afternoon...

Hazel was quite interested in Ellie the Elephant who lives at her Great Grammy and Great Grandpa's house. So, she and I decided that we would take her on an adventure all around the house. What a fun afternoon Ellie had. By the dust on her hind end I would say it has been a number of years since she has seen some real sunshine.

Hazel rode Ellie outside to begin the adventure. Is Ellie looking squatty under Hazel's weight?

Ellie checked on the fish in the creek that runs in front of the house. She thought about coming back later for a snack, until...

Hazel gave her some yummy PEANUTS...
...and then some yummy leaves from Great Grammy's flowers.

Ellie shook her head in disbelief at the sight of the hole caused by a fire truck the week prior.

Ellie looked longingly in at the neighbor's pool. Sorry, Ellie not today.

Ellie wanted to stretch her legs so she took a walk all the way to the end of the drive. There she saw the beacon that marks Great Grammy and Great Grandpa's house...the yellow gate.
(Behind the scenes of Ellie's adventure.)

She toyed with the idea of taking a drive in Great Grandpa's van, but when she couldn't reach the pedals, she decided to seek more fun by foot.

She ran into Mr. Rooster in Great Grammy's garden. He didn't have much to say.

Just as she was about to head back inside, Baby Bear hitched a ride.
It was then time for one last adventure, and Ellie quickly climbed up a lovely tree. What a view!
She paused to take in the pretty spring day at Great Grammy and Great Grandpa's house.

Later, Hazel gave Ellie a much needed bath after her busy afternoon outside. She cleaned up quite well.
Then...it was time for Ellie to return to her perch in the playroom. From her post she looks over all the visitors to Great Grammy and Great Grandpa's house. Ellie enjoyed her afternoon of adventure, but she is happiest in the place she has called home for the past 30 years or so. Thanks for the fun Ellie!
