We just got home from a weekend away at Beverly Beach on the Oregon Coast. Nana's birthday was the reason for the celebration, and we all enjoyed spending time together! (Wish we all could have stayed healthy, but we can't plan for everything.) The house was perfect and had a phenomenal view from nearly every window. Hazel and Henley loved the multi-level home, Henley becoming a champ at safely navigating the steps over and over and over again. It was fantastic to see my nephew JACK again. It had been far too long since I saw him last, and he sure has changed into an adorable little guy. Oh, and it was a special treat to celebrate with the family the MOMENT we all found out that baby #3 will be...a BOY! Thanks Nana for sharing your birthday moment with your newest grandson. :) Here are some of the pictures from our weekend, I did take a few of course.

Papa with his Jack.

Telling Hazel she is going to have another BROTHER!

I showed her this picture and explained who was waving at her...

She has since decided a good name for him would be "
Goosie Goose" and she gives my tummy hugs anytime she gets a chance. She will be a great big sister AGAIN, to ANOTHER brother. We made a big deal that she will be the only girl. (She has been hoping for a baby sister since Henley was born.) Thankfully, the news that a BLUE cake brought was well received by Hazel.
(See post below for the story of the cake.)

We had to spoil Nana with some princess glasses.

The other princess tried them on as well. Quite a pair!

Oh Henley, all business! He loved the wrap around deck that provided spectacular views of the ocean.

A little r
osy view for you buddy.

We LOVE Newport, and headed there after breakfast Saturday. Richie rode this bike there. Not really, he could hardly manage to sitting on it long enough for a photo! Ouch!

A favorite of Newport's
Bayfront, the
sea lions! They put on a nice barking show.

Henley was quite enthralled with the big
mammals. His fingers had to be pried off the railing, he would have watched them all day.

Nana gave him a better view from above.

Family pic.

Papa requested Lily sit for the picture, and a moment later, both Lily and Henley sat. Funny! He thought it was pretty funny too. What a crack-up!

Then Hazel got in the photo. (Both she and Richie wanted to stand by Papa, so we had to share in separate photos.)
"Sittin' on the dock of the bay..."

Henley loves his Papa. His Papa rather enjoys the attention and affection!

I had to take a picture of this restaurant's sign. Richie wanted to go in...I guess he would have fit in. Riff Raff Richie!

Nice view from UP there.

We opted out of eating here (Chowder Bowl instead), but had to get a photo of Nana with the crew. (Missed Jack for this one!)

An octopus bench! Hazel had to sit and pretend she was an octopus.

Back at the house, Nana and Jack enjoy a special quiet moment.

Love the hands!

A very happy Jack awoke and was entertained by his Nana.

After naps, we all headed to the beach. Wait up guys!

Richie was a little too brave and got a little too close for my liking. He had a great time and his rain boots did their job, kept the water out!

This girl loves the beach, so much so that she agreed to wear JEANS.
(Our girl who wants to only wear skirts takes a lot of convincing to step outside in pants, let alone JEANS!)

Oh happy day!

Henley worked hard as he figured out how to use all THREE digging tools at once.

Jack's first time at the Beach. He may have been sleeping and snuggled away, but it still counts! Love the little feet hanging out.

The happy family of three.

Just as fast and Nana could build,
Henley would knock the sand over. Good thing Nana was mature enough (60 years mature) and she could handle the destruction!
Henley's sister may not have been as kind.

Then...something thrilling for Miss Hazel happened. The owner of a fabulous OCTOPUS kite came over and asked if she would like to FLY it! She was beyond excited.

She held that kite so tight and smiled so wide.

Can you hear her squeals of DELIGHT?

Quite a fine kite!

Snuggled up nephew Jack. What a cutie.

Henley got in on the action, he wanted to fly the kite too.

My camera battery died, but Pat's IPhone took a great family picture.
So great to have us all together!

Hazel was completly smitten by her cousin Jack. It was so much fun to see their interaction.

Big smiles for silly Hazel.

Hazel kept telling me that she won't have two baby brothers, but she will have three. (She counts Jack in the mix!)

Hopefully, we all mend soon (a few colds can't keep us down for long). Thanks family for a great getaway together....and HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA!
