We arrived home yesterday from a whirlwind few weeks of travel. First, Nana & Papa's in Forest Grove, Oregon and then Grandma and Grandpa's in Spokane, Washington. Hazel talked all throughout our time away of missing her "big girl bed." I could relate!! Though traveling with three children may not be easy, spending the holidays with loved ones makes it worth the effort. Here are some photos and memories from our time in Spokane. Yes, more snow pictures too!!

Henley is quickly becoming such a CHARACTER! He loves making all of us laugh. This is him demonstrating his new trick known as "night night." No matter what he is doing, when he hears someone say, "night night" he rests his head on his shoulder and smiles WIDE. (Typically he then falls down since his head is roughly 1/2 his
body weight and it throws his balance off.)
We all certainly enjoyed relaxing in Grandma and Grandpa's hot tub.
Hazel practiced her "swimming" and was thrilled she could touch all the way across.
Santa stopped by later. He was kind to take a break from his North Pole festivities to join us for a game of Chutes and Ladders. His version entails "surfing" on the box. Works for me as I never have much luck playing the traditional version. Darn those chutes!!
Caspian made some delicious and healthy wraps one night. She made some fabulous peanut sauce to go along.
Yummy.
Yet again, Henley found his favorite toy...a box. Though it was a tight fit, he wiggled in without too much trouble.
Henley hanging out with one of his favorite snuggle buddies, Grandpa!!
Caspian & Seth all dressed up for a night on the town. Hazel was decked out in her favorite sleepwear and had to get in the picture!
The vintage Smurf collection brought joy to all the kids, big and little alike!
A sweet secret shared between Grandma and Henley. (I couldn't get it out of him!!)
Clip Clop the Wonder Horse - Henley takes a ride on another vintage toy. His daddy enjoyed this toy 30 years ago!
Hazel may have a future in horse racing.
More snow fun. This time, daddy pulled the kids in the sled. Henley was thrilled, though kept putting his hand out in the snow and losing his mitten. BRRRR!
There sure is something so peaceful and beautiful about a quiet walk amongst the snow covered pines.
Hazel disembarked from the sled to keep her snowshoeing Grandma company.
The beautiful Little Spokane River decorated with frosty snow.

What an angel Richie can be!

Henley enjoyed a cozy cold seat on the park bench. It was a great spot from which to watch his sister play. (Yet again he proved to be a good sport for one of mommy's silly photo ops.)
He didn't even attempt to move. I promise it wasn't that he was too cold. (His suit kept him QUITE cozy and warm.)
Hazel joined her brother. They discussed all the important things in life. Such as, how many
marshmallows do you want in your cocoa?
A few days later, as we were getting ready to head for home, Clip Clop the Wonder Horse needed some fresh air. It was in the single digits, so it was rather fresh and COLD air. Hazel nearly bucked herself right off Clip Clop!
Henley was rather distinguished in his approach. He rode Clip Clop with the grace and elegance a Wonder Horse deserves.
BIG GIRL bed here she comes!!
Yep, 1 degree outside as we gassed up and headed for home. Brr.
When we got home last night, our house was 41 degrees inside. Thanks to a hearty pellet stove, we are now cozy and warm. Hazel just woke up from night one back in her big girl bed. The smile on her face was sign enough that HOME sure is sweet.

Happy 2011 to all!

Sounds like a great way to spend the holidays. Tell Beau that I too had the wonder horse and he is currently residing in parents attic :). Happy new year friends. I hope we might be able to see you all this year.
