SUMMERTIME and the livin' is EASY

Summer finally arrived here in the past week. It has been HOT! We had a very lovely holiday last Sunday, and broke out the new pool for the festivities. It is amazing the fun kids can have in about 12 inches of water. Here are some pics of the past few weeks as we have grown accustomed to life OUTSIDE. (Well, the heat of the past few days has made it less tolerable for ME to be outside for too long.) Hazel and Richie would bake in the sun all day if allowed. Thank goodness we buy our sunblock in bulk.

Henley showing off his likeness for standing. Hazel and Richie aren't the only big kids that can have fun on the play structure anymore.
PEEK-A-BOO

Hazel is a girl who is becoming a bit too adventurous, at times. She perched on the outside of the play structure tunnel for about an hour the other day. I think she liked the view.

Blip blops for climbing?

There one minute, diving through the hole the next.

Plotting her next adventure. This one in the back of daddy's truck.

Beau has been getting the side yard ready for a gravel play area for the kids. Hazel and Richie loved when he came home with a load of pea gravel. They played in the dirty pebbles for a VERY long time.

Swim time! Do I know you strange alien?

Hazel doesn't know when to stop swimming. She was literally shivering uncontrollably on the 4th of July and Beau had to drag her out crying. This girl loves her pool!

Our favorite neighbor, Lauren, is such a perfect playmate for Richie. Hazel adores being the tag-a-long that follows them wherever they go.

Splish Splash!

A cold moment, she moved on quickly from this full body shiver.

Time for a drink.

Kick kick kick!

Shortly after being pulled from the pool, Hazel was decked out in her barbecue eating and fireworks watching attire.

My goodness. This girl can EAT...and she ADORES corn on the cob. (The pot of corn was within her reach, before I knew it, she had gobbled FOUR 1/2 ears...and she wanted MORE!)

Henley casually nibbles his watermelon.

Lauren helps him out with a bit.

This picture is for Julie. My girl loves eating her meat on the bone. Come up for air Hazel!

I love the one finger hold.

Happy 4th of July!
