Kiahanie Campground

We spent last weekend camping along the North Fork of the Middle Fork of the Willamette. (Whatever that means.) Kiahanie Campground was beautiful, thank you to Clemens, Femeke and Andrin for inviting us along! There was plenty of dirt, rocks and COLD water to keep the kids entertained. Here are some pictures from our weekend in the woods. (Henley's first time camping in a tent!)

The kids enjoy a snack.

This picture cracks me up. Andrin's joy is so accurately captured!

Another time for snacks. These kids can eat!

Naps all around for Femeke, Clemens and Andrin.

Andrin loved throwing rocks for Bella - and now he has a new best friend! (He also loved sharing food with her too.)

Beau coaxed Henley into the COLD water. It was a hot sunny day Saturday, so the cold water was a welcome respite...

The leg dunk...

Hmm...maybe not his favorite...

Daddy to the rescue.

All better. Thanks daddy.

Beau and Clemens helped to reconfigure the river a bit. (Some of it was already done, they just added to it.)

Hazel's head became a bit too hot...

Brrr!

Much better!

Richie took a seat in the river.

My guy and I.

The "beach" was all rock. Miss Bathing Beauty herself, decided to "relax" on a bed of rocks.

Clemens is an expert fisherman. Thanks for sharing your talents (and patience) with Hazel.

My two favorite guys.

My two favorite little people.

Andrin has the most darling personality! What fun to watch him play in that cold water.

A quick pose from Richie...he liked Beau's hat.

After an afternoon of play, time for a nap.

Our tent was too warm in the mid-day sun. Beau hauled Henley's bed outside for his nap, and Bella assumed "baby watch" duty.

The day before we left for camping, we bought a new (much larger) tent. It proved to be quite the play spot for Hazel and Andrin.

The two friends loved to wrestle in the tent.

Soon enough, Henley will want in on the action! (Can you hear the squeals of delight?!)

The other fun place to play...the hammock!

The two friends share a swing.

Clemens was a great swinger.

Weeeeeeee!

Hazel showed her brother how the swing works. He was a little skeptical at first...

A smooch (or ten) from sister and he was more content to enjoy the gentle swing of the hammock.

Richie wants a hammock in his room now.

Not a bad view from the hammock. I never did get my nap in the hammock. Next time?
What a great weekend. Nothing better than falling asleep to the sound of friends talking around the campfire and the river flowing a few feet beyond.
