Nine months old and Henley is growing into those cheeks more and more each day.
Those cheeks help him to eat his nine month favorites, and they have to work extra hard since he still has yet to sprout a tooth.
His edible faves:
1. BREAD
It can be bits of my morning english muffin, the end of my pizza crust, or a bit of his sister's bagel.
This guys loves his bread.
Sounds like his father.
2. WATERMELON
He can even be found chomping the rind once the melon is gone.
Who needs those plastic teethers!
3. CRACKERS
He loves a good crunch!
The baby ones will do, but he really prefers the crackers the rest of us eat.
(By this age his sister was eating everything...this guy definitely has a more discriminating taste! He sure does appreciate his momma's milk!)
Plotting his next move?
He has become quite skilled in backwards scooting.
He is on the brink of crawling.
We better think about baby-proofing...again.
Oh, and those cute baby boy hands.
Watch out for them!
They are expert grabbers, scratchers and pinchers.
Just last night he was sitting with his daddy.
He reached out and GRABBED a fist-full of Beau's chest hair.
Yikes.
I have learned to trim his nails every four days.
but I still get "love" scratches from him all up and down my chest and neck.
It looks like we just adopted a feral cat or something.
Nope, just cute and cuddly Henley using me for his scratching post.
His pinches are the worst.
He knows just the right (WRONG) spot to PINCH on my outer upper arm.
The little fatty spot just outside the armpit.
OUCH.
When do they start learning to be gentle?
Hopefully at the 9 month 3 day mark.
Henley loves a good view, be it from his daddy or mommy.
He is up for an adventure, and there is no doubting he is all boy!
Henley continues to love his Jumparoo.
Soon he will be a bit too long-legged for his favorite toy.
He loves the park, but not for the swings or the slides.
He prefers being plopped in the bark, pebbles or sand.
The dirtier the better, or course!
Those legs can balance, when aided by something on which he can lean.
Soon those legs will be discovered for even greater things.
I can hear it now...Henley padding along after his sister.
For now, I ENJOY this age.
Nine months is a rather perfect age.
He still sits and stays, for the most part.
He smiles and laughs at the simplest of joys.
He appreciates his mommy's singing.
And he calls me by name!
Did I forget to share his first word?
"MA MA MA MA MA!"
He says it will such enthusiasm.
At times enthusiasm full of joy, other times frustrated enthusiasm.
Either way, I come running with a big smile on my face.
Music to my ears.
Love you Henley!
