Henley SIX Months Old!

The little guy is already six months old. How did that happen?

Beau took him to his well-check yesterday (Hazel and I were at her second dance class). The pediatrician said Henley looks great. We could have told him that, but always nice to hear it from a baby professional! Here are our little guy's stats at the ripe old age of SIX months old:

Height - 26 3/8"
Weight - 17 lb 7 oz

That means in the past six months he has gained 10.5 lbs and grown nearly 5 inches. He wasn't nearly as excited about his immunizations as he was about an afternoon spent with daddy.

Here are some of Henley's favorites at six months...

1. Jump, jump, JUMPAROO!

Ask, "Bouncy, bounce?" Henley's eyes twinkle and his legs start jumping just at the question. Put him in his Jumparoo and step back...this guy can GO!

2. Eating with the family like a big boy.
He is so interested in all that we eat, but still slow to be too excited in eating his own baby solids. He LOVED when I gave him my pizza crust the other night, and he gnawed on it for a long time. Maybe we should skip the pureed stuff and move on to steak and potatoes?

3. Kisses from mommy.
He gives a wet one back at times too.

4. Hangin' with daddy.
The view is great UP there in daddy's arms.

5. NEW things. Henley is learning so much each day. Here he was touching sand for the first time. You can see his wheels turning at the touch of something new.

6. His hands.
In the past month, Henley has really started discovering the amazing tools his hands can be. He is grabbing at everything and turns little items over and over between each hand. Above he has a withered up leaf he found in the sand. It kept him occupied for a number of minutes - until it broke apart from all the Henley love.

7. Being a big kid.
Henley sees his sister and her friends enjoy the swings. He was pretty mellow as he tried out the swing for the first time last weekend. You would have thought he was and old pro at the sport of swinging, he was so relaxed I thought he may fall asleep. He enjoyed the vantage point as he watched all the other kids at play in the park. He is an observer like his dad.

8. SITTING UP!
In the past few weeks, Henley has gone from being a bit unsteady to a sturdy sitter. He especially loves sitting when his toes are exposed and ready to grab.

9. The sport of toe nibbling.
What's better than grabbing your toes, eating them of course! Henley now can bend over, have a toe snack and then use his core strength to pull back up to sitting. Amazing feat! :)

10. Learning from his sister Hazel.
Henley watches Hazel's every move. He tolerates her when she is a little rough, and he giggles at her when she is being silly. The relationship growing between these two is more fun to watch than I had imagined. Hazel often talks about how Henley is getting bigger. She is excited for him to grow bigger so that she can share with him her Thomas trains. I am sure he will enjoy this. Though Hazel is anxious for brother to grow bigger, I wouldn't mind if he grew bigger a little more slowly...
Happy SIX months little man! We love you.
