Hazel and I joined up with our friends Stephanie, Julie, and Julie's daughter Macey for a day of shopping yesterday! We headed up the interstate to IKEA, as I learned this week that Julie had never been. We had beautiful weather on the drive up to Portland, however, on the drive home we had severe winds, hail, rain, thunder and lightening!! Drama. On our way home we stopped for some required outlet mall shopping. It was a very long, but equally fun day with friends. We came home exhausted but pleased with our efforts to stimulate the economy today.
The girls are ready to shop. They lasted in the carts...oh a few mintues. Then it was off to explore the beauty that is IKEA!
I love the strech of Hazel's little legs as she reaches for the forbidden keyboard.
She is really ready for business as she attempts to get up in the chair to begin her daily emails.
IKEA is such a family friendly place. There were kiddo spots for fun and entertainment around each corner.

We were actually on a mission for a specific MONUMENTAL purchase today. A TODDLER BED for Hazel! Now that we know baby brother is on the way, it seems a good time to venture into new sleeping digs for Hazel. She loved trying out the various models. (We did buy one, you will see a post on that later after Beau assembles it.)
Hazel loved pushing this small dolly around. A toy, I think not. This was verified when it bonked her head one too many times. She is resiliant and moved on quickly.
Yes, Hazel we do need a potty stool. This stool passed the toddler test and was placed in the cart.
Macey shy? Maybe a little...and a little tired too! Four hours in IKEA has a way of doing that to anyone. We were all exhausted and quite excited to get on our way down the interstate.
Macey was out in about 10 minutes.
Hazel sacked out too, just about the same time as Macey.
Yay!! Finally enough hair for some real piggy tails!
Macey and her new puppy. Later when she woke up, she rolled the window down to let him get some air. What a kind little girl she is.
