Happy Birthday Roberta!

Beau has been plotting his mother's birthday weekend at the Silver Mountain Resort (Kellogg, Idaho) for a number of months. The anticipation for our long weekend away was well worth it. What fun was had by all!!

I dare say the adults (all us who are 25 and over) enjoyed the fun even more than the little ones. Hazel was more timid than I thought she would have been. She warmed to the idea of splashing around, but was most happy to be hand in hand with a family member exploring the watery features of fun.

I don't think I have giggled so much since I was a teenager. Riding FAST down the water slides with Beau cracked me up to no end. Adding a few more family members, and I was beside myself.

The greatest part of the indoor water park had to be the array of features that entertained all ages. We will be back!!

Roberta's party was on Saturday. The turnout was GREAT, and we all ate pizza and celebrated Roberta! Here are some pictures from our weekend away. I am still a little water logged!

Hazel enticed to jump by her daddy while Grandpa Bruce looked on from the Lazy River.

Woo Hoo!

Henley, always the studious one. He liked sitting on the step in the Hot Springs.

Cute little pruned up feet.

Daddy coaxes Henley out for a float.

My two guys. Cool, calm and collected.

Bruce and Roberta viewing the SURFING Caspian...
I didn't try the Flow Rider, but Caspian made it look a lot easier than I know it was!
Seth was a natural.
Minor's Island had two smaller slides and lots of interactive water fun. Hazel spent a lot of her time playing at Minor's Island, though she never grew to love the GIANT tipping bucket.
Pollywog Pond had these fun swings on springs. Hazel and Henley both enjoyed boucin' & swingin' in these swings.
I didn't think Henley would get a nap on Saturday. Little did I know that the Lazy River is PERFECT for lulling a drowsy baby to sleep. I ended up doing at least 10 laps around the Lazy River. Caspian relieved me and she then did a number of laps with Henley.
You should have seen the looks I got as I floated along with Henley sleeping on my tube. I got really good at avoiding all the waterfalls. (Better than his Aunt. Had to add that Caspian!)
I dare say one of Grandma's best birthday presents was spending time with a favorite little person.
Stylin' Hazel. Sure is bright at the INDOOR water park.
Attitude!
The master bedroom in our suite had this gigantic tub. Of course we had to get a photo, and the three sillies were up for the Kodak moment.
Henley LOVED the giant tub.
Sufficiently exhausted from a FUN day. Cozy in Grandpa's arms.

Roberta's party brought family out of the woodwork! Great job Beau & Caspian planning such a special party for your mom.

Beau and I made Grandma Dorothy's famous mustard as favors. YUM!

Hazel was delighted to spend time with COUSINS!

She and Madison enjoyed playing Pac Man. They didn't even need a quarter to have fun.

The Garner Men. Dick, Bruce, Gary, Pete & Beau.

Fifty? Really. Hazel thinks her Grandma is twenty.

Hazel enjoyed singing "Happy Birthday" to her Grandma.

Siblings. Kathy, Dan & Roberta.

Henley snoozed the first part of the party in the Ergo. He woke up and was ready to PARTY! :)

Madison, Joanne & Bailey.

We even got out of our bathing suits for the party!

The GROUP! Thanks to everyone who joined in the celebration.

Henley thought Grandpa was still hungry.

Henley may have a future as a bellhop. He LOVED wheeling around on the luggage cart.

The view from our window. See the SLIDE in the distance.
That would be my favorite, the Moose Sluice. A family raft ride, four can ride, up to a max of 800 lbs. One time down we MAY have neared the max and we FLEW. (Imagine high pitched junior high giggles and that is what you would have heard.)
A final goodbye and we all head for home. Caspian and Henley have one more squeeze.

Happy Birthday Roberta. (Thank you for giving your son a reason to finally go to the Silver Mountain Resort!)

Wow what great fun! Wish Bryce was a bit bigger so we could take him to the park here in Galveston. Glad you got to celebrate with Roberta, what a wonderful treat.
ps- any leftover mustard for the Nelsons?!
